So Sad....

Last night was a sad night if you are an Angel fan. Hoping to tie the series at one game apiece before heading home, the Angels instead found themselves down 2-0 against the Red Sox after Francisco Rodriguez gave up a walk-off homer to Manny Ramirez in the ninth. We have to win 3 in a row!! I hate the Red Sox!!!

Friday Update

Just a quick update while it's fresh on my mind or lips.... I finally was able to see what all the fuss is over Leda's Bakeshop. I met my D at T.G.I Fridays (we met there instead of Johnny Rockets). Oh my gosh - they did not disappoint. When we first arrived D opened the box so I could smell the icing. We looked like we were hovering over a box of gold. We both had our "lite" lunches and then we were ready to experience Leda's.

D is wonderful - she had gone the day before (actually she tried last week but it was a Friday at lunch and there was no where to park) so back she went yesterday.

She got two of each -

*Velvet (All the delicious red velvet taste without the artificial coloring. Topped with a rich cream cheese frosting)

*Passionfruit (Vanilla cupcake with passionfruit curd and passionfruit buttercream)

* Strawberry (Vanilla cupcake with strawberry cream filling and strawberry buttercream)

*Lemon (Vanilla cupcake with lemon curd and lemon buttercream)

And an unknown. She couldn't remember which it was. Will be fun to find out.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So we divided them up and both chose the Velvet as the one we first wanted to try. It was awesome. The cake was so light, so tasty. The icing was good - a little sweet for me - but the cupcake itself was everything I had thought it would be. I wish we would have ordered a big glass of milk before we started eating. But it was still good. We both wanted to try and mini - again we chose the same - this time the strawberry. The icing for this cupcake was light and fluffy with a little tinge of strawberry. I was so full I couldn't finish. I now have a box of these little yummies in my fridge here at work. I have an eye on it so no one can try to make off with them. I can't wait to share with the family.
Oh Happy Friday!
Happy Friday. I've been looking forward to today for a couple different reasons.
* It's Friday.
* I'm having lunch with my dear dear friend D. She and I have known each other for close to 10 years. We worked together at my last job and have remained friends since. She is extremely creative, talented, and a wonderful friend. Not to mention she is an extraordinary mom. I was fortunate to be in the room when little D was born almost 6 years ago! Wow!!
* She works in the Valley so we are meeting 1/2 way at Johnny Rockets. I'm sure it will be fun and yummy.
* D's bringing ...... cupcakes from the infamous Leda's Bake Shop. I've mentioned to her a time or two about my "cupcake envy". Being the wonderful friend that she is - she trucked to Leda's yesterday and picked up a box so we could enjoy them at lunch today. Another reason why I love my friend!!!!
* BevMo is having the $.05 wine sale. I've never been and I'm going to make this sale hopefully on my way back from lunch. Hmmmm what will I find.
* Tonight is the 2nd game of the Division Series between the Angels and the Red Sox. My beloved Angels lost the first game on Wednesday but I'm hoping we can come back tonight and make the series even for when they head back to Anaheim this weekend. Oh how I love the Angels!
* It's Friday!!!!
What's in Your Bag?
There have been a few posts on a couple different blogs about what was in their makeup bag or makeup drawer. That is what prompted this...
I have used Oil of Olay face lotion for as long as I can remember. I have tried many different types, brands but none that I liked as much as my old stand by.
I love my Bare Minerals foundation. I use the Medium/Light and then use the Mineral Veil powder.
Made with pure, crushed minerals from the earth, award-winning bareMinerals SPF 15 Foundation will cover all of your imperfections and is clinically proven to heal and help the overall condition of your skin. I use the Warmth on my cheeks to add a little color.
I love the "Twig" eyeshadow from Bare Minerals and Mac's "Shale"eyeshadow. I don't use a lot of different make up but love these two shadows. My all time favorite eyeliner is from Bed Head "Fat Liner in Brown". It's the best. It lasts all day and does not smear. I have tried a lot of different mascaras and have found the Great Lash from Maybelline to be the best. It's inexpensive and does a great job.
At the end of the day I faithfully clean my face with these two - Aveeno cleansing pads AND Cetaphil face cleaner.
The Weekend
This weekend was a good one - we were busy and a lot was accomplished.
Friday night we went for Chinese food - at the request of my son - who loves Orange Chicken. We decided to give China Dynasty another try. In the past they have been wonderful but our last time was a bad experience.... I won't go into details. We were pleasantly surprised and happy that our old favorite had worked it's way back to our favorite Chinese food.
We shared Orange Chicken, Hot and Spicy Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. Yum! It was very tasty. I love Chinese food!!!
China Dynasty is right next to Toys R Us - and "buddy" had money burning a hole in his pocket from last weeks goal (my sister rewarded him on his goal with $10). So off to Toys R Us it was. After looking and looking and looking he came home with yet another set of Pokemon cards. No clue how many he now has but he was excited to have some new ones.
Saturday was an early morning soccer game. We were a bit worried that the boys would not be awake and not have as good as game as last week. But they did awesome!! Another win for the Green Extreme - and another goal for "buddy"!!!! To him that $10 more dollars - cha ching!!
After his game was a lot of running around and a lot of errands. Took "buddy" for a MANicure - his poor cuticles were awful. I felt like a bad mommy for letting them get so bad. After the "no way will I go in there" - he told me that he was happy he went and that his fingers felt better. Good mommy!
I took my car into my trusty Firestone to have my tires rotated and my back brakes looked at. Fingers crossed that they were ok. Yippee for a clean bill of health on my car!
Target run! Oh how I love Target! Again, the $10 was burning a hole is buddy's pocket so he spent quite a bit of time in the Lego aisle and came home with this - which he built all by himself! He amazes me!Saturday was also our three Monthiversary - I can't believe how quickly time has flown by. It amazes me that we have already been married for 3 months or 90 days or quarter of a year.
Sunday was another busy day. I hate when the weekend is over but I love when I feel like I was productive and was able to get a lot done. Grocery shopping was my top priority - tip - don't go shopping when you are hungry or you will come home with:
I forgot how much I love Ding Dongs! Yum!
I also made a trip to Bath and Body Works - I had to - I had a coupon for a free plug in! I love Sandlewood Vanilla!!! I managed to find refills that I thought were discontinued. and a trial for a new lotion that comes out this month! Velvet Tuberose - very pretty!!!My last stop with Bed, Bath and Beyond. For our wedding we got a gift certificate and I still had money to burn (like mom, like son) so I picked up a few little items - nothing too exciting but I couldn't pass up this little guy - now hopefully J won't mistake my veggie scrubber for a pot scrubber....Daughter was off and about in her little truck. What a difference it makes. I love it but I still miss her calling me to pick her up.
Yay for great weekends.
