Dear Co-worker....

Dear Co-worker,

It annoys me to no end when I send an e-mail to you and you immediately come into my office and ask "So, what do you want?" I can almost guarantee that as soon as I hit "send" I will hear you coming down the hall in 3.5 seconds only to ask "What are you saying?". I carefully draft my e-mails to you, writing things in the simplest terms possible. Yet, you don't take the time to read through them and try to understand what I am saying or asking.

If I wanted to chit chat, I would have come to your office or picked up the phone and called you. I don't have that time nor do I want to chat with you. I'm sorry if I'm harsh, I'm just tired of this... 9 flipping years....

Signed,

Your irritated co-worker

Viva Las Vegas...

I leave early tomorrow morning for Las Vegas. I wish I could say that I was meeting my dad there, or going with J or going for a girl's weekend trip or anything remotelyy fun. Instead I'm going for work... So not looking forward to it but at least it's only for 2 1/2 days.

The big highlight of our trip is dinner at Casa Di Amore. This is an AWESOME Italian restaurant off the strip. This will be our third year going back there. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere has the old Las Vegas feel to it and what service is outstanding. They have complimentary limo service and a delicious Amarone wine. I highly recommend this little hole in the wall if you want yummy Italian food off the strip.

Bad Missy

I was so busy last week that I didn't have a chance to add anything to my little blog. Our work computers finally were fixed so I'm trying to make up for the time lost. Thank Goodness we are up and running.

I'll have to post an update to our weekend later. Busy, Busy!

S-L-O-W

That's how fast our computers at work are running right now. We live in a fast paced world, everything is so rush rush. When the things we rely on such as computers run at an extra slow pace it makes you really realize how quickly we are used to doing things. Something is definitely wrong with our server so e-mails are taking - I kid you not - 1 to 2 to even 3 hours to reach it's destination.
How sad is that?
We have become so dependent on just hitting "send" it seems like such a chore to get up and go talk to another department or to make a call to check on a shipment. It's just not e-mail it's every thing. It's taking us 20 minutes to do something that normally takes 1 - 2 minutes. It does make me realize how much we take technology for granted.
Our poor server is very very sick and I hope the doctor comes to fix it very quickly.

Happy Halloween

I am so lucky to work in a small office with great people. We have a very laid back office with out the usual office drama. We aren't the kind of co-workers that hang-out outside the office but when we do have a good time when we have pot lucks or little parties. Today we had a pumpkin carving contest and a potluck.
This is mine (above) - I tried to be too Martha Stewart.... It looked good on the internet.

This is J's. (above) He ended up winning first place - $50 bucks!!!! Woo Hoo!!!

2nd Place winner

3rd Place

A few of us dressed up. None of us went all out - but it was still fun.

Owner of our company. This was a nice change - for the past few years he's been Zoro...

President - hard at work

This was cute - she's a "spice" girl...

Me!!! J - he's a retired football player.... real creative dear....
Our CEO - he dressed up like a CEO.....

I'm very blessed to work with a company that is so devoted to it's employees and their families. They have always been so good to me and my schedule. And they pay me well!!!

Sick

A picture is worth a thousand words.

Which is good because I have a killer sore throat today and feel awful.... I hate being sick. But even more I hate being at work and sick.

Working From Home

I'm very fortunate to work for a company that is flexible and works with my schedule. Buddy is off school for 2 weeks (year round) so I'm working from home this week. I get to do this a few weeks out of the year - thanks to my wonderful employer.

I'm very lucky to have a son that can keep himself occupied for hours so I can work. He rotates from Gamecube, Legos, Pokemon, and a little T.V.

Even though I do enjoy working from home for the short time I'm able to - at the end of the week I'm ready to go back into my little office.

Upsides to working from home:
Work in PJs (I can only do this for so long and then I get lazy)
No commute
No distractions from the office
You can throw a load of laundry in in between calls
Have lunch with Buddy

Downside:

Still thinking.....
